Dear participants!
We are happy to invite you to participate in the excursion program of the IBCM 2023! If you are interested in attending our Social events, kindly take a moment to fill out the form provided at https://forms.gle/31AnbL1XF73RY4Nh9 before August 6.

Payment for the excursions can be made directly to the guide on the excursion bus. All excursions will depart from the Conference Venue – Hotel “Volna”. Please note that the excursion program will be conducted in Russian.

Curonian Spit excursion, 08/20/23, 08:00 - 15.00

Excursion to the Curoruan Spit is undoubtedly the most popular tourist route in Kaliningrad. The Spit is a long narrow land of sand adorned with sandy beaches and lush forests located on the southeast coast of the Baltic Sea. Its length is 98 kilometers and the width varies between 400 and 5800 meters. Being a natural phenomenon, its landscape attracts a big attention of scientists and tourists from all over the world. The Curoruan Spit is also declared as a UNESCO World Heritage Site from 2000s. Please note that the excursion program will be conducted in Russian.

Excursion to the village of Yantarnu, 08/20/23, 09:00-15.00

The amazing world of the sun stone will open up to you when you visit the village of Yantarny, located on the shore of the Baltic Sea. This destination owes its name to the magnificent amber deposits that lie within its embrace, making it one of the largest amber reserves in the world. Within Yantarny lies a remarkable enterprise dedicated solely to the extraction and refinement of amber, making it a truly one-of-a-kind establishment in the world.

Kaliningrad city tour, 08/24/23, 15:00-19:00

Kaliningrad City tour is a good chance to get acquainted with the mysteries of this Prussian city in Russia This tour encompasses both a walking program, which includes visits to Kant Island and the Fishing Village, and a guided tour of significant historical landmarks throughout the city. These landmarks include the King’s Gate, Brandenburg Gate, Rossgarten Gate, Don Tower, Wrangel Tower, Crown Prince Barracks, Rogal Mountain, and the Old Town. Moreover, participants will have a chance to acquaint themselves with the modern aspects of the town. Please note that the excursion program will be conducted in Russian.

Excursion to the castle Schaaken with a visit to the cheese and chocolate factory Schaakendorf, 08/24/23, 15:00-19:00

The 13th-century knight’s castle, where Peter the First once resided during his European trip, stands as a testament to its enduring history. Despite facing the trials of old fires, the castle emerged resiliently from the ashes. In the aftermath of the second world war, the medieval giant served as an orphanage and even a collective farm stable. Today Schaaken is an object of cultural heritage and a museum. Here again knight’s swords ring, holidays are held and excursions are given. Visitors can immerse themselves in the medieval era by donning authentic costumes, savoring the flavors of local cheeses and indulging in delectable chocolate.
