Dear Colleagues,

We are delighted to announce The Fifth International Baltic Conference on Magnetism (IBCM-2023): to be held in a resort area in the Kaliningrad region (Russia) from August 20th to 24th, 2023. The conference will unite within one event internationally recognized experts and young researchers in the fields of materials science, physics, chemistry, biomedicine, etc. It will become a platform of exchange of new ideas with hundreds of contributions consisting invited, oral and poster presentations. The IBCM-2023 Programme will have special focus on the following topics:

1) Nano- and micromagnetism

– Fundamental magnetism
– Magnetism of nano- and microstructures
– Magnetic alloys and compounds
– Multicaloric and multiferroic materials

2) Applications of functional nanomaterials

– Biomedical applications
– Photocatalitic & environmental applications
– Sensing applications
– Energy harvesting, storage and conversion

3) Magneto-optical phenomena and devices

– Magnetic plasmonic and photonic materials
– Magneto-optical characterisation of magnonic and spintronic structures
– Magneto-optics of thin films and multilayers
– Magneto-optical devices

The participants would be able to attend plenary and invited lectures given by internationally recognized scientists, report on their own findings and recent achievements in the aforementioned topics, as well as to enjoy natural and historical beauty of the Kaliningrad region and Baltic Sea. We are pleased to inform you that the list of plenary speakers will include: Prof. Elena Kramarenko (Lomonosov MSU, Moscow), Prof. Alexander Pyatakov (Lomonosov MSU, Moscow) and Dr. Alexandra Kalashnikova (Ioffe Institute, Saint Petersburg).

Please, be informed that Smart Composites International School (SCIS-2023) for young scientists, Ph.D. and MSc students will run in parallel with IBCM-2023. The School will be dedicated to the following topics:

– Polymer-based elastomers and nanocomposites
– Magnetic & magnetoelectric composites
– New materials for 3D printing and other additive manufacturing
– Mathematical modeling of composite magnetic materials
