Pupils take part in scientific research

For the second year, Research and Education Center “Smart Materials and Biomedical Applications” has been holding classes with pupils of the Kaliningrad region as a part of additional education.
During half a year students are engaged in in-depth study of physics, chemistry, and biology and then take an active part in research activities of the Center as well as work on their own research projects. Pupils of 10th class Margarita Keruchenko and 11th class Alisa Shachenko are developing and creating insoles from composite materials, which will allow generating electricity while walking.

The 10th -year pupil Anastasia Britan develops a setup to study dynamic characteristics of magnetically bistable microwires, which in the future will allow to study properties of amorphous ferromagnetic microwires for their application in biomedical applications.

Totally 16 pupils take part in the program, working on the realization of 8 projects. The work is financially supported by the North-West Mathematical Research Center named after S.V. Kovalevskaya.
